Best Seasons of Nepal

Nepal has a typical monsoonal two-season year. The best time to be in Nepal is during the dry season which is from October to May. The start of the dry season, September through November is in many ways the best time of the year in Nepal. With the monsoon only recently finished, the countryside is green and lush. Nepal is at its most beautiful during this time and there are many colorful festivals to enjoy.
The trekking in the Himalayan Kingdom of Nepal is possible at any times of the year depending on where visitors are going . The most popular seasons for the high altitude are spring (February - May ) and Autumn (September. to November ). Winter (December - January) is very cold above 4000 m. and high mountain passes may be snowbound. But it is best season for trekking at lower (below 4000 m) altitude. During the monsoon season (June - August), you can trek in the rain-shadow areas north of the Himalaya like Mustang. Upper Mustang and Dolpa. These places are out of reach of the rain clouds because of the high mountains and unaffected by the monsoon.
